Factory Crane Relocation, Dismantling and Installation
When a growing business moves to a new facility, or production lines are rearranged within an existing factory, one of the most demanding engineering operations is relocating industrial cranes (overhead, gantry, jib).
At Beta Crane, whatever the tonnage or span, we dismantle your existing crane systems in full compliance with occupational safety standards, transport them safely to your new facility, carry out the necessary mechanical and electrical revisions, and commission them on a turnkey basis.
How Our Relocation Process Works
Crane relocation is not a simple "remove and refit" job; it is a project that requires precise calculation. Our engineering team manages the process in the following steps.
1. Free On-Site Survey and Engineering
First, the current condition of your crane and the physical conditions of the new facility (bay width, ceiling height, load capacity of the existing steel structure) are examined. The transport route and the mobile cranes and equipment to be used are planned.
2. Safe Dismantling
Under the supervision of our occupational safety specialists:
- The electrical panel, drives and cable trolleys (festoon) are removed without damage.
- The trolley group and hoisting motors are separated from the bridge.
- Double girder or single girder bridges are lowered from the rails with their structural integrity preserved.
3. Transport and Revision (If Required)
The dismantled crane components are carried to the new facility on special transport vehicles. If the bay span of your new factory differs from the old one, bridge shortening, bridge extension or wheel span (rail axis) revisions are carried out to the millimetre at Beta Crane's manufacturing facilities.
4. Installation, Laser Alignment and Commissioning
The bridges are placed on the crane runways (rails) in the new facility. Rail alignment (skew and parallelism) is carried out with laser measuring instruments. The electrical installation is renewed. Your crane is subjected to static and dynamic load tests at its nominal capacity and handed over to your company in working, approved condition.
