Electric Chain Hoist Models
An electric hoist is the most basic lifting equipment: it lifts and lowers a load at a single point or carries it along an I-beam. Beta Crane BVZ series electric chain hoists come in 1, 2 and 3 t capacities, in 2-motion and 4-motion versions.
Choosing by Motion and Capacity
- 2-motion (suspension hook): Hangs from a fixed point; lifts and lowers the load. Standard lifting height 3 m.
- 4-motion (electric trolley): Runs on an I-beam; lifts, lowers and carries the load along the beam. Standard lifting height 6 m, travel speed 11 m/min.
- 1 t: For workshops, assembly lines and workstation lifting.
- 2 t: Mid range: fast with single fall, lower chain and motor load with double fall.
- 3 t: With 1/1, 2/1 and 3/1 reeving options for heavy parts and moulds.

On 4-motion models the travel motor is 0.4 kW for 1 and 2 t and 0.75 kW for 3 t; the suitable I-beam range is 80 – 160 mm for 1 t, 82 – 178 mm for 2 t and 100 – 180 mm for 3 t.

Which type of hoist should I choose: chain or wire rope? For precise lifting at low and medium tonnages (up to 5 tons), electric chain hoists are more economical and longer lasting. Wire rope hoists should be preferred for very high tonnages and extreme heights.
